Specifically, in this session, insights will focus on leading practices for the oversight of engagement and needs of customer stakeholders.
The session will begin with a presentation by NEDonBoard member Tony Barritt, expert in customer engagement and experience and non-executive director, including how customer needs are changing and how governance standards are evolving. The discussion will consider the introduction of consumer specific regulations in financial services (namely the recently introduced FCA Consumer Duty) and what can be learned by NEDs serving on boards across all industries.
Practical NED perspectives will also be shared during the session, with opportunity for Q&A in the second half.
Sharing a non-executive director perspective is Serena Joseph. Serena is both a NED and a highly experienced UK GRC practitioner specialising in compliance advisory, culture and conduct risk as well as on the design and implementation of 3LD frameworks, i.e. formal and operational governance, regulatory and operational risk and resilience, Consumer Duty and SM&CR. Serena is approved as an SMF 10 Chair of Risk at Kroo Bank and joined the board of ICICI in October 2022 as SMF12, chairing the Board Governance and Remuneration Committee and chairing the Conduct Risk Committee. For both banks she has been appointed as the INED Consumer Duty Champion.
