SUMMARY:Birmingham (in-person): Board Community Networking Series
DESCRIPTION:Building and maintaining a board level network is an important component of developing a non-executive director portfolio. \nThis informal meet is a great opportunity to reconnect with your NED peers and establish new board level connections in a face-to-face environment. Many NED appointments still originate through word of mouth; and as business and governance evolve\, discussing current boardroom themes with fellow board members provides a path to continued growth. \nThe main part of the session will be for informal facilitated discussion with teas and coffee provided by NEDonBoard.  (At the end of the session\, some attendees have expressed interest to continue the conversation over dinner or drinks nearby. This is separate to the event and a head’s up that you may therefore wish to allow time in your diary after the event to continue your NED conversations.) \n  \nPlease register to attend. \nThis session is open to NEDonBoard members only.

SUMMARY:Strategies to Become a NED in 2024

She is currently an executive board member\, a non-executive committee member and a board trustee. \nGuest speakers: \n\nRashad Issa – Rashad is a Non-Executive Director\, strategy specialist and an operational quality\, governance & assurance expert. He guides the development and delivery of robust operational strategies for ambitious\, growing businesses.\nRashad is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and the Quality & Business Improvement Lead at the Baltic Exchange. He is also an advisor for the diversity\, equity and inclusion initiative with Project Management Institute (PMI).\nPaul Hetherington – Following a highly successful career as Director\, MD & CEO mostly in the manufacturing sector\, PLCs\, PE and privately owned businesses\, Paul has transitioned into a portfolio life. He currently sits on several high-profile boards. These include: the Industry Development Advisory Board (IDAB) which is a statutory body advising ministers on investments in commercial schemes between £5million to £8billion; Chairing Business East Sussex (BES)\, replacing the Local Enterprise Partnership which did a similar role to IDAB at county level; and Senior NED at Building Research Establishment (BRE Group)\, a circa £100M organisation. Paul is also a Vistage Chair in SE England and advises a number of UK and overseas companies from circa £10M to £500M. He has particular experience in digital transformation\, executive leadership coaching and turnarounds.\n\nTo Attend:  \nTo attend\, you will need to select the relevant ticket option and complete the registration form. \nIf you are attending online\, dial-in details will be distributed the day before the event.
