Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH) is an acute teaching hospital which provides District General Hospital services to our local populations in and around the City of Brighton and Hove, Mid Sussex and the western part of East Sussex and more specialised and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the south east of England.

We have recently signed the contract for the £484m redevelopment of the Royal Sussex County Hospital which will redevelop the front half of the County Hospital site, with two new state-of-the-art hospital buildings replacing the current outdated facilities. The first of the new buildings is due to open in 2020 and the second in 2023.
We are looking for 2 to 3 individuals to join our board. One of the roles will be as Chair of the Audit Committee and will need recent and relevant financial experience. For all of the roles we are looking for candidates who share our values and bring executive or non-executive experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Finance experience gained in a complex organisation, with a recognised financial qualification as they will be required to chair the Audit Committee.
• Commercial change, business development and/or competition experience
• Major capital programmes
• Risk management or regulation where safety or quality is the priority
• Voluntary, community or social care experience and an understanding of the opportunities for integration and partnerships
• Economic analysis expertise gained in a complex organisation
• Clinical or healthcare related expertise gained from academic, research, regulatory or clinically focussed roles
• Application of informatics in a complex organisation
