Overview

ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) is making a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives, working alongside our patients, communities and partners, to ensure that we are providing responsive and effective support so that they can fulfil their potential.

ELFT has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by our regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the only Trust in our areas of operation to be so, is financially robust and is an active system leader, both locally and nationally.

We are recognised internationally for our ambitious quality improvement programme, which has transformed the culture of the Trust and the way we work with our staff. We are also recognised internationally as a model of best practice for the way we work alongside our service users and carers in all aspects of our work.

We have embarked on a new ambition which will ensure that we will maintain our high quality of service delivery whilst becoming a lead provider of integrated care and improving the health and wellbeing of the communities that we serve.

We are seeking three experienced and talented individuals who will add value to our strong, vibrant and forward thinking Board. We’re seeking particular senior leadership expertise in one or more of the following at a strategic level; Finance (with a CCAB qualification to Chair the audit committee), Commercial/Innovation or Technology.

You will need sound judgement and possess a clear understanding of governance along with a commitment to public service values and a collegiate approach. It is essential that candidates have worked at a senior level in a large, complex organisation, and are able to make a distinct contribution to the strategic direction and future success of ELFT.

We are proud of that we are one of the most diverse Boards in the NHS and understand the benefits this brings to the quality of services and effective decision making. We therefore actively encourage applications that will assist to maintain that diversity.

We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all and appointments made on merit. Preference will be given to candidates who live in or near areas to which the Trust provides services.
