Certitude is looking for Board Members who can bring their, knowledge, qualities and
experience, leadership skills, and an understanding of the economics that support our
sector, as well as being an able communicator who can champion others’ interests. You
would bring your mix of professional and personal experience, be able to help contribute to
and critique our strategic performance, identify and make useful connections and
introductions, and provide your informed opinion on the activities of Certitude.
This is an intellectually stimulating role with plenty of scope for an inspiring leader with
exceptional interpersonal and diplomatic skills to influence and strategically direct an
organisation that is at the forefront of the work we do in Learning Disabilities and Mental
We are interested in Board Members from a range of diverse occupational and personal
backgrounds, which will complement the existing range of Board skills and particularly want
to hear from you if you have some or all of the skills or experience in any of the areas listed
 Housing, property development and estate management
 Business development, income generation and fundraising
 Social care innovation, research and best practice development
 Generalist business knowledge such as Finance, HR, Marketing, Operational Service
Delivery (Social Care), Legal and Information Technology
Housing and Property Management
 Property management/housing association
 Property legislation and property market
 Asset management & development and managing property investment
Business Development and Income Generation
 Experience of diverse fundraising practices, corporate and philanthropic giving
 Understanding challenges of UK charities
Social Care Innovation
 Up to date experience of relevant social care campaigns/policy/practice and
measurement of social care framework
 Understanding key influencers/decision makers in government and public bodies
