About Trailblazers Mentoring Ltd
Trailblazers Mentoring works with young offenders leaving custody, helping them to address offending behaviour and barriers to reducing reoffending, and ensuring that they are supported into housing and education, employment, or training.
Established in 1998 Trailblazers was the first prison-based mentoring charity (registered charity number 1074453) in England to provide 'through the gate' support to young offenders by working with them for 6 months whilst in prison and up to 9 months upon release, and remains the only charity still offering this level of intensive support and offering such strong (and independently verified) reduction in reoffending results. Through a team of salaried staff and 160 volunteers, we currently provide a service to young male offenders (mentees) aged 18-25, in 3 Young Offenders Institutions, who are released across England and Wales.
