Overview

YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of young people across the UK. Driven by their experience, we create change and provide vital help so that children and young people can cope with life’s adversities, find help when needed and succeed in life.  A partner charity of the ‘Heads Together’ campaign, we are also part of a wider movement tackling stigma, raising awareness, and providing vital help for people with mental health challenges.

Following a period of rapid growth, we recently completed an external organisational review to identify change in order for us to support long term sustainable growth and we are now investing in the development of our infrastructure to ensure we realise our ambitions to reach more young people and create real change in young people’s mental health.

At this important point in our journey, we are now seeking a new Chair. An experienced senior leader, you will bring a thorough understanding of what good leadership and effective governance looks like in order for us to succeed. Highly credible in your field, and with outstanding communication skills and strong financial acumen, you will possess a natural ability to work closely with our Chief Executive and lead our Board, as well as demonstrate the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

We are also looking for additional trustees, including potentially people who are willing to chair our Audit & Risk and People & Governance board sub-committees.

This is a pivotal point in our organisation’s history. If you have the passion and skills to make a difference, then we would like to hear from you.

To find out more about the appointment please visit our website www.gatenbysanderson.com/job/GSe35593. For an informal discussion about the role, contact our advising consultants Katy Giddens (020 7426 3973) or Rebecca O’Connor (020 7426 3373).

The closing date for applications is Monday October 16th 2017.
