Overview

Chair
England, Wales and Northern Ireland

Climate change has an impact on us all. The Earth is telling us loud and clear something is not right. Now is a critical time for the world to act to shape economic transformation and create a global economy that works for both people and planet.

Friends of the Earth is now seeking a Chair for our Trust Board at an exciting and significant time where we are needed more than ever.

With a new strategy recently underway and bold ambitions for our impact, our next Chair is committed to Friends of the Earth’s values, and has the ability to lead the Board, whilst motivating, supporting and challenging the Executive and wider movement as they deliver the strategy.

We are looking for an individual with significant governance experience, ideally at national level, and in an organisation of similar complexity to Friends of the Earth. You are passionate about campaigning for the environment and will have an understanding of the regulatory environment within which we operate. The successful candidate will have the personal presence and gravitas to engage credibly with the most senior stakeholders, and share our impatience to make a difference.
