From working with the Prime Minister on the future of employment, and reforming the gig economy, developing pilots for basic income trials in Scotland, through to helping the Bank of England develop its plans to make our economy work for all the UK’s regions and nations, as well as leading the UK’s largest ever study of cultural learning the RSA is at the very cutting edge of solving today’s big issues.
We are especially focused on three change aims: creating an economy that works for everyone; shaping great public services fit for tomorrow’s challenges, and developing an education of the head, hand and heart. Our growing Fellowship of more than 29,000 change-makers across the world are vital in helping us change the world.
Following the end of the three year term of our current Chair of Trustees, we are now looking for a new voice to help make sure that what we do day-to-day fully matches our high ambitions for what we want to achieve.
The Chair will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of governance and probity, providing guidance, support, and constructive challenge to its executive leadership. The role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the future direction of the RSA.
If you’re a high-performer with excellent leadership skills and proven experience of not-for-profit governance, we want to hear from you. You will demonstrate the credibility and authority to oversee the organisation and ensure that our strategic goals are realised. The appointed individual will demonstrate genuine enthusiasm for the purpose, mission and values of the RSA, building on its distinctive history to embrace an exciting future. The appointment is for three years from 1 September 2018.
We especially welcome applications from groups under-represented in policymaking.
