Chairman of Audit and Risk Committee
(£5,629 per annum plus expenses)

Could your business and commercial background in Audit or Risk help us to provide excellent customer service to residents whilst having to reduce our expenditure?

Saxon Weald is a successful housing association business with 6000 homes in Sussex and Hampshire. While our core business is general needs housing, we are leaders in homes for older people. We aim for excellence and our services are highly rated by customers.

We have a high-quality, commercially-oriented Board and now need a new member with relevant experience and skills at a senior level to become our new Audit and Risk Chair. Your background could be in business or one of the professions. Experience of social housing is not a mandatory requirement.

This is a critical appointment for our Board. You will join at a time of major opportunity and challenge. If you are looking to use your skills in a strategic way, why not help us to ensure we continue to deliver value for money services as well as continuing to develop c120 homes a year.

The Chairman of Audit and Risk will ensure adequate controls are in place across the company, direct internal and external audit firms and review areas and levels of risk.

The committee meets at least 3 times a year. In addition you will be on the Saxon Weald Board.  Our Board meets eight times a year to make key decisions, approve the business plan and budget and agree strategies and policies. It monitors both their implementation and our performance indicators.
