An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and well respected individual to join DHU in the role of Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee. We are seeking to appoint an individual who share our values and ambitions and are passionate about building on our success. The NED Audit Chair will influence and work with the CFO and Board members.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Establish procedures to govern the Audit Committee’s work and ensure the Audit Committee fully discharges its duties;
Ensure that there is an effective relationship between the Board, Management and the members of the Audit Committee;
Report to the DHU Board on the matters reviewed by, and on any decisions or recommendations of the Audit Committee;
Ensure, in consultation with the CEO and the CFO, that all items requiring the Audit Committee’s approval are appropriately tabled.
Skills & Qualifications:

You will assist the Board in satisfying their responsibility to maintain an effective audit function, including but not limited to the oversight of the following:

Compliance with relevant internal and external audit requirements
Performance of the internal audit activities in accordance with the Internal Audit Policy
External auditors’ qualifications, independence, objectivity & effectiveness of performance
About You:

Be a qualified Accountant with a proven track record at board level ideally within the health care sector and with previous experience of working on an Audit Committee
With good knowledge of Corporate Governance, you will be accustomed to a high level of accountability
Have a strategic, pragmatic and collaborative style & strong stakeholder management skills

The time commitment to the role will be 1 to 2 days on a monthly basis and will be flexible in terms of it patterning across the year with some months requiring greater input and less depending on the service issues.

The salary for this position will be £7,500 – £10,000 depending on experience and time commitment to the role.
