Turning Point is a leading social enterprise providing health and social care services for people with wide-ranging and complex in over 200 locations across England and Wales. For over 50 years we have worked with those affected by drug and alcohol misuse, mental health conditions, offending behaviour, unemployment and people with a learning disability. Our strategic aim is to extend our reach in terms of client types with an increasing emphasis on early intervention within the general population utilising technology to enable new service delivery models. We currently employ 3,340 people doctors, nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, recovery workers, care workers, and support workers. With services operating in over 330 locations across England we are a significant player in the Health & Social Care markets. We support 800 people with a learning disability, over 13,000 people with mental health challenges and over 63,000 with substance misuse issues.
About the role
We are looking to recruit to the key position of Chair of the Turning Point Group board. This is a non-executive director position for which there is a salary of £6,000 per annum plus expenses. It is anticipated that there would be a handover period by the current Chair with the new incumbent taking over from 13 September 2018.
About you
You will be an experienced non-executive director committed to the ethos and values of Turning Point and its subsidiaries in delivering health and social care services.
The role would suit someone who understands the challenges of operating in the sector, managing large complex organisations, and operating in a particularly tough trading environment. You will have a broad network of contacts and depth of experience to further the business aims of Turning Point.
Experience and knowledge of deploying technology to create innovative business models and value-creation in service delivery would be a distinct advantage.
