SAC Commercial undertakes the commercial activities of Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) – an innovative, knowledge-based organisation which supports the development of land-based industries and communities through its specialist research and development resources, its education and learning provision and its expert advisory and consultancy services.

Commercial activities, include those delivered under the SAC Consulting brand, and provides a wide range of services to clients across Scotland, the United Kingdom and a number of international locations. With an annual turnover of circa £21 million, SAC Commercial uses the skills of a team of more than 375 consultants, veterinary surgeons, scientists, technicians and support staff to deliver independent, quality and accessible services to farmers, rural businesses, food processors and associated clients.

We are looking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors with strategic and senior experience to assist in shaping and influencing the development of an innovative, growth-focused commercialisation strategy for the business in the UK and beyond.

Individuals joining the Board will be expected to bring independent judgement to bear on issues of strategy, policy and performance and to offer high level advice on the development and management of programme and policy initiatives.  These are challenging opportunities for highly motivated individuals to put their experience and expertise to use in support of rural businesses and communities, education and research. International and political experience is desirable.

These appointments would carry the responsibilities of a Company Director.
