Overview

Roald Dahl’s child characters often face a challenging and sometimes frightening world. But with a mixture of curiosity and courage, and the encouragement of an extraordinary friend, they are able to make the best of it.

The children helped by Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity (RDMCC) share that experience. They face an unknown future living with a serious illness, often rare or even unknown to their doctors. Their family can also feel alone and lacking the support and reassurance they need. That’s where our specialist nurses come in. There are currently 62 Roald Dahl nurses and health care professionals in post within England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland

Trustee (Fundraising and Marketing)
Unremunerated

RDMCC is a small charity with big aspirations! Having secured the Patronage of HRH the Duchess of Cornwall in the last year and reorganised the fundraising and communications team, it is looking to grow and develop substantially in the next five years.

We receive a large grant each year from Roald Dahl’s family but we are now raising substantial funds from other sources as well, and have an ambitious plan to grow our fundraised income significantly over the next five years. Already companies like the ATG Theatre Group, Dunelm and The Daily Telegraph have chosen to support us. But we need to convince many others, both corporate and individual, if we are to succeed in our vision

We are now seeking to strengthen our Board and have recently been engaged in succession planning.  We’re looking to recruit as Trustee, a current or former senior professional with a background in fundraising and marketing, to help guide our ambitious and motivated team.
