Kali Theatre seeks out and nurtures talented women writers of South Asian descent, bringing their experience and stories to audiences from all backgrounds in ground breaking, thought provoking, productions to transform the theatre landscape and better reflect modern Britain.

Under its newly arrived Artistic Director Helena Bell, Kali is embarking on an exciting period of development with new projects that will build on our past success to expand our reach and raise our profile.

We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join our existing Board of Trustees to support this development.  We’d like to hear from individuals who have a range of skills, particularly in the following:

* Finance and fundraising
* Marketing and communications
* Knowledge of theatre practice, national and international touring

* Present high quality new plays that challenge audience's perceptions
* Reach new audiences, especially those with a South Asian background
* Diversify the programming of mainstream theatres
* Provide leading roles for British South Asian actors and showcase their skills
* Extend the reach of our work through regional, national and international

Forthcoming activity  Under its newly arrived Artistic Director Helena Bell, Kali is embarking on an exciting period of development with new projects that will build on our past success to expand our reach and raise our profile with:

* An annual national production & tour of a new pay each autumn  This autumn we present Bitched a sharp look at motherhood, power and sex.
* A six month Writer Development Programme supporting emerging writers culminating in * * Talkback, a season of public play readings of original work.
* Talkback National - A new national programme to support writers outside London in partnership with two key regional venues culminating in a biannual script showcase
* Kali International - A new bi-annual themed season of work showcasing experienced national and international writers, commencing in 2018 with the theme of war
