Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability – Trustee with a background in change and transformation.

London – Approximately 12 days per year – Expenses payable

The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) is a leading UK hospital for people with profound and complex disabilities resulting from damage to their brain through accident, injury or neurological illness.

Founded in 1854, our Putney based Hospital provides specialist medical care, rehabilitation therapy and technological support to meet the complex needs of people with profound disabilities. Our focus is to care for each of our patients as an individual, offering practical and emotional support to them and their families.

Determined to continue as a leader in our field, the RHN recognises that the key to success in achieving transformative change is the full engagement of our people through their skills, dedication and involvement.  Following the retirement of the Deputy Chairman who had a particular interest in this area, the Board now wish to appoint a new trustee who also has a passion for achieving our goal through positive and engaging operational practice.

We need you to have a significant track record in transformational change within a complex organisational environment, or alternatively, you have led the “people agenda” in a complex organisation, ideally at Board level. A determination to inspire excellence will be a key driver for you and your values should align with those of the RHN. The Board is well served by members with a healthcare background and we are therefore particularly interested in candidates from other sectors especially those with a strong customer focus. You will need to have an interest in and empathy for our services and the patients and families that we serve, and be comfortable with major strategic issues as well as a focus on operational details.

We believe that our Board should reflect the diverse communities that we work in and serve. We therefore welcome applications from any individual with the relevant knowledge and expertise.
