Overview

The University is in an important phase in the delivery of its Strategy 2020 while looking ahead to its future strategic priorities. GCU wishes to appoint additional Governors with a passion for, and commitment to, the University’s mission for the Common Good.

The University is seeking governors who share its values and a commitment to the Common Good, to serve on the governing body of GCU, the University Court.

At this time, the Court is particularly interested in governor applications from candidates who have expertise and strategic experience in the following areas:

Finance, Accountancy and Risk;

·         Communication and Marketing;

·         Estates, Facilities;

·         Health and Safety

However, applications from those whose expertise lies elsewhere in the professions, business, industry and the third and public sector are also welcome.

A well-founded understanding of governance at board level is also an asset.

The Court values the board strength delivered by diversity in its composition and particularly welcomes applications from women, people with disabilities and members of minority groups.

Additional information on the roles and about the University can be found on the University’s website at www.gcu.ac.uk/governors
