D&O insurance explained for NEDs and board members

In May 2021, NEDonBoard and McGill and Partners co-hosted an event, aimed at educating end users of D&O insurance policies. The event content was informed by the results of the joint survey run in Q1 2021 to test the knowledge and understanding of this vital form of personal liability protection for non-executive directors and board members. The survey demonstrated a lack of knowledge of the nature and limitations of D&O cover. For example, 72% of respondents (just under 200, the majority of whom were executive or non-executive board directors) did not know how a “claims made” policy operates. Guest
