18.01.2021 NEDonBoard Online Roundtable – Assessing Boards’ Effectiveness

This online roundtable, for a small group of experienced NEDs, provides opportunity to share experiences around board effectiveness, reviews and self-assessments; some of the challenges – including unwilling chairs, shareholders on board and benchmarking rigour; what works well and what doesn’t; how to get the most from your review (internal and external); as well as ensuring a value-adding rather than checkbox approach to corporate governance.​

This will be an informative session with input and experiences from your fellow board peers.

Facilitator: Chris Burt – Chris is a principal of Halex Consulting and a co-founder of the Risk Coalition. He focuses on working with boards and executive management, and has over 25 years’ experience delivering governance, risk management and assurance consultancy to leading UK and European businesses. His work includes conducting board effectiveness reviews and self-assessment reviews. Chris qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG where he specialised in technology risk and information security (cyber) consulting, later extending his expertise into enterprise risk management and internal audit consulting with Deloitte. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
