The session will begin with a presentation by NEDonBoard member Paul van Brenkelen. Paul is an advisory board member, non-executive director and executive director, operating in China and Hong Kong with expertise in sustainability and ESG; digital transformation; change management; and innovation and product development. A life-long learner, Paul is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Business Administration with his thesis centred on innovation and governance.

Practical NED perspectives and experiences will also be shared by:

• Sanjay Bhandari – a portfolio non-executive director and board chair, following extensive experience in the professional services sector, most recently as a partner at EY where amongst his other successes he served as Chief Innovation Officer and his leadership led to significant growth in the firm’s Financial Services technology business. Currently he is Chair of the Board of the Satellite Applications Catapult; Chair at Kick It Out; a Non-Executive at the Lawn Tennis Association; and a Board Trustee at Greater Manchester Moving.
• Katya Zotova – whose NED roles in recent years have included a FTSE100 mining and oil & gas conglomerate; and currently includes serving on the boards of the second largest shipbuilding business in Europe and a Lithium mining company in Canada. Her sector and executive experience is primarily in energy, mining, industrials and infrastructure where she has successfully developed and executed agile long-term strategies, delivered programmatic growth – whether organic or M&A driven, originated and executed direct private equity investments and exits, built finance organisations and secured access to sustainable and affordable financing through private funding and capital markets.
